How To Clean Tarnished Sterling Silver

Sterling silver can be easily tarnished by various reasons, depending on the wearer. It can be caused by sickness, or mere dietary style.

Nonetheless, it is easy to clean sterling silver. For cut surface jewelry and also with stone embellishments, it is recommended to rub with white toothpaste (Colgate is preferable) and then rinse off.

For plain uncut surface sterling silver, wrap a glass bowl with aluminum foil with the shiny side facing out. Put the sterling silver jewelry in the bowl, pour boiling water into it and quickly dunk in a heap tablespoonful of baking soda into it. Wait for several minutes and take the jewelry out of the bath and rinse with cold water.
